Arif Susam
Arif Susam (b.1956, Elazig, Turkey) is a new wave-synthpop artist. His style combines traditional Turkish tunes with synthesised instruments. Being often credited as "the Martin Gore of Turkey", he was very popular in the 80s with fellow artists like Nejat Alp, Ümit Besen and late Atilla Kaya. Although his albums were commercially and artistically successful his fans agree that his best was his live performences which took place at the restaurants in the Bosphorus shore district of Tarabya, Istanbul.
